Sturgeon sits on US-63 almost exactly between Moberly and Columbia, which means the Missouri Junkers truck passes through it on nearly every Columbia job. A Sturgeon pickup can often ride along with a run that's already happening.
It's a small Boone County town — a few hundred houses, a lot of them older, with the outbuildings and long driveways that come with a town this size. Sturgeon also had a county recycling drop-off. Like the rest of Boone County's sites, it closed in 2025 and hasn't reopened.

The city's drop-off centers and the county sites in Hallsville, Sturgeon, Ashland, and the rest closed with it, and they haven't reopened. Bulk material that used to go to a drop-off has been stacking up in Boone County garages ever since. We haul it.
